The primary objective of the analysis is to estimate the average coverage and download/upload speeds on a per township basis. This information can then be used by the municipality to apply for broadband funding and/or partner with both local wireless and fibre service providers to improve the coverage and download and upload speeds.
The analysis has four (4) phases:
Using this methodology, ViTel Consulting was contracted by the Rural Municipalities of Alberta (RMA) (formally AAMDC) to complete a province-wide coverage study in 2011.
